Family History
In retirement, I have devoted increasing time to researching and documenting my family history through original records, historical maps, migration patterns, local histories, and archival sources.
My goal is to build an accurate, well-documented record of my ancestors and the places they lived, with particular attention to how family stories connect to broader American history.
One line of my paternal ancestry traces through my father, Daniel Harry Gray, and his mother, Rhea Smith, to William Brewster, a passenger on the Mayflower and a leader of Plymouth Colony.
My current family-history projects include documenting direct ancestors, tracing migration across generations, and preserving family stories with supporting records and historical context.
